The Christian life is like riding a bicycle – we have to keep moving for us to stay up.
“And Jesus kept increasing (grew) in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” Luke 2:52
Work is not a curse, and neither is it evil nor is it necessarily secular. God worked and is still working and He cares about our work. “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” MATTHEW 25:21
Focusing on yourself will never reveal your life’s purpose because the Bible says in Job 12:10, “It is God who directs the lives of His creatures; everyone’s life is in His power.” “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had His eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone.” ” Ephesians 1:11
We live in a day of increasing energy shortages. The Christian life is not difficult; it is absolutely impossible, apart from the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said (John 15:5b), “apart from Me you can do nothing.”
“Evangelism is a calling but not the first calling. A Christian’s first call is to return to the first commandment to love God, to love the brotherhood, and then to love one’s neighbor as himself.”
